When I make this play it's agianst a LAG who will raise with any 2 or bet any 2 when checked to.

I'm guessing at this level we're not eliciting many bluffs from trash, but I think I'd be a little concerned by a light raise.

Granted I have no idea the texture of the UB 2/4 game~

I think top pair with no kicker or a good mid pair are often exceptions to the clarkmeister rule.

a bet doesnt serve much purpose and at this level youll be bluffraised a decent percentage of time on the river if youre a clark guy.

I assumed he was calling, but on a second look its close. I still guess call though.

This seems to be a pretty easy call if bet to but I suppose it's read dependant

I've used this line @ 3/6 a couple of times. People indescriminatly use the clark rule all the time and I think its a mistake. The clarkrule assumes that your opponent will not bluff often enough to make check calling effective. I've found times playing @ 3/6 where I've checked tp on a 4 flush board and picked off a bluff on the river. Its not a play I'll use all the time but one that has its effectiveness. Phil Ivey's thinking is prolly along this line. He's got TPWK, his opponent is prolly capable of bluff raising as well as blulffing in this spot. He will prolly check call rather than bet and being forced to fold to a raise.

Ya, clarkemeisters rule was for small stakes people that don't think at multiple levels.
