keep your computer on for long periods of time?

i have done this and havent noticed any effects, just wondering. thx

We used to keep the lab computer on for weeks or months at a time.

nope. There used to be a school of thought that believed that turning a computer on/off everyday would put undo stress on the circuits. Seen posts on some of the hardware review sites that seem to debunk this theory. Also with MS Windows it used to be a VERY good idea to shut your computer down from time to time.

Who knows, if you can stand the fan noise/electric bills leave it on.
