2 hands from a final table (180 player SnG)

A couple of interesting hands from the FT of a 180-player SnG. The villain in the first hand had been an aggressive donkey, and his chips had dwindled from 25000 to about 19,000.

The first hand was a Stop-and-Go. I was going to push any flop. My belief was that I had no FE preflop.

The second hand occurred right after the first hand. My hope was that the push would look fishy. BTW, I showed my hand on the second hand after the villain folded. Comments?

2nd hand you could bet small (like 30%ish) and hope he sees that as fishy and comes over the top on a bluff or overcards or underpair.. I think that's what I would do, just build up the pot in a way that calling, chasing, or raising you off a hand gets really tempting

2nd hand is terrible. What's with all the overbetting anyhow?

Didn't see donkey's stack in the first hand. Nicely played. 2nd hand is still bad.

[/ QUOTE ] That's what I would normally do, but the situation seemed favorable for taking a risk and trying something different.

1st hand looks good, aggrodonkey already has like 1/3 of his chips in, he's not folding to a re-raise.. I actually fold the 4's pre-flop, but the move worked and it was well played.. you're pushing high card flop as well right?

1st hand's nice. I bet less second hand trying to commit him. Note that many bets are easier for him to call in general and get his stack in eventually. Not sure these stakes are high enough (maybe if this guy's really good) to make 3rd-level thinking necessary.

I really only have one comment for both of these hands:

When it comes to a decision for ALLL their chips, people are suprisingly tight. Especially this late in a tourney.

In hand 1 I think you have more FE preflop than postflop. Well maybe not more, but not much less plus the fact that you can get it all in before his AQ hits and fold out hands that can hit the flop and suck your money in when you're a 4:1 dog. If YOU had the 20k stack and he the 60k, I would love it. See the difference?

In hand 2 the idea is OK, except that you have most of the good cards in the deck. It will be hard for him to have a hand to call with, and like i said, since its for ALL his chips, he may make surprisingly tight folds (underpairs, J9 even). Much better spot to trap, you don't always have to go for the jugular when you can bleed them dry at the wrist.

Hand 1 seems fine to me.

In hand 2, what hand do you think would call his stack but not call or raise a T8000 bet? You think a J might get suspicious and call here, but fold to T8000. Or 66 or A2 or KT or something? I really just don't see much benefit to pushing here unless you have some reason to think that this player is into making the "heroic" call.
