View Full Version : What's The Most You've Ever Spent @ Teh Liquor Store?
Two parts to the question, what's the most you've ever spent at the liquor store? One, if you were just buying for yourself, two, if you were buying for a party.
I'm going for a personal record for myself tonight, I'll probably drop about $120. Small change for some OOTiots, but I don't drink the superexpensive stuff. Some Fris, a bottle of good potato vodka, a mid-level scotch, the Captain and a couple good microbrews.
Party record is also pretty weak, no more than $200.
I'm not making this a poll because I'm hoping for stories dammit.

Just under $600 in one trip is my personal best but I was having a party.
Usually I spend about $300/month across two trips.

For myself I've never really bought more than 1 or 2 bottles at a time, so the most is maybe $50.
I've blown $300 easy for a BBQ, and then another $100 on beer.

No idea money wise.
5 bottles of cheap vodka and 5 bottles of cheap gin for some punch I made in the bathtub, that was pretty good. Also got 5 other assorted bottles that night. So 15 bottles is probably the most I have personally bought. If you're talking about multiple people, probably around a grand between 5 of us.

Haha, sorry, it wasn't really in the bathtub. It was this giant cooler that looked like a bathtub, so we called it bathtub punch. I agree about putting drinks in the bathroom.

In preparation for our wedding last summer my wife and I spent about $1200 at the local liquor store. All in all we got about two cases each of about ten different good beers, and a handful cases of different kinds of (cheaper) wine. Finally we also got four or five kegs of different domestic beer.

Around 500. This was just after one of my friends got his own apartment and my other friend turned 21. We got six cases of beer and ~25 bottles of liquor. Only one of the 3 of us was 21, so we filled up 3 shopping carts, then me and my other friend just casually walked out of the store while our overage friend paid for everything.
Some of my friends in college threw a party where they went to the liquor store and bought one of every beer they sold. OE cans up to Belgium bottles. They spent about $450.

I was buying for two events: A big tournament of some game at my house, and a weekend in AC a couple weeks later (which was actually this past weekend).
I dropped $200 on a quarter barrel, 3 cases of beer (which was more for the long term, we're still running on these), a handle of Bacardi and another of Absolut, and topped it off with a bottle of scotch (Balvenie).
My roommate and I then got a little trigger-happy and drank the single-malt before the AC weekend. So he then went and bought another bottle for us.

we bought a great 1950s glass and wood bar for the new house, so of course we had to go stock it....

I've spent more, but $300 at the Duty Free shop in the airport in St. Thomas. That'll buy you 10 bottles of single-malt Scotch and 2 bottles of Cruzan rum, all of which would be a heck of a lot more expensive here.
