The facts: Prostitution (the world's oldest profession) is generally considered illegal (except in Nevada and Amsterdam). Pornography is generally considered legal. My plan is to blur the two.

The plan: I would like to rent a cheap warehouse. Purchase some digital video cameras. Make some costumes. Write some stock porno scripts.

A prospective customer comes to my shop wanting to make his own porno flick. He (or she) picks a script (or brings in their own), picks a set, picks costumes, and then picks an "actress" (or "actor") to play a "supporting" role.

The customer leaves with a smile and 2 copies of their very own porno which they can duplicate and sell.

Customer pays me for set rental and photographic services. Customer pays "supporting" actor for acting services.

Pros: Eternal demand, eternal supply. Employs a Loophole.

Cons: Would need to hire a good lawyer to fend off legal attacks.

Anyone know if porn is legal to film in the UK? If so, I start a new business on Monday.

Very clever.

Just a minor detail: Prostitution is legal almost everywhere in the Western world, just not in most of the U.S. and some Scandinavian countries. So, your business model would not really fly in Germany where a hooker with full service costs you about $60.

But still, I can see that there could be a great demand for this service. It would be somewhat pricey if you factor in all the cost, maybe about $ 1000 to $ 2000 bucks for a "standard 1on1"? OTH it should have much more value to the customer than a random boning at the whorehouse. You keep the tapes and you can relive the moment for ages! You can have endless screenings with your friends during the Super Bowl halftime show!

Very nice idea!

There was an ebay auction not too long ago, that offered exactly what you were describing. It was with a famous porn star (cant remember which), and I believe it ended up going for about 50k.

You could also offer a discount (probably your 'hire premises' fee) if you get to keep the rights to the recording, and then sell it in compilations. There's a lot of sick farging barstidges that would dig random iceholes boning porn starlets, I'm sure.

I saw an episode of "Real Sex" on HBO that show a place that did this. They had a few sets (S&M dungeon, barn, etc) and people came to get taped having sex with each other.

Or was it the show about that porn director guy, Buttman or something like that. "Family Business" I think it was.

Funny too b/c this one guy couldnt get it up so they had to cancel the shoot.

I think this is a good point. Starlets get way more for a scene than the typical going rate. If the premises keeps the rights and copies to all films but destroys them, your price might get close to "normal".

The other bit is that altho prostitution is illegal in most of the US, it's very much present everyway. Enforcement goes after the ho, not the john, so for the most part the major risk to the john is STDs. "That's all." IOW I don't think skirting the legality issue is the selling point; the focus should be on providing a safe atmosphere to the client. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

IMHO

In most jurisdictions, paying someone to have sex with you is not actually illegal. What is illegal is soliciting. I can't speak for where you live specifically, but in 98% of the jurisdictions where soliciting is illegal, what you're proposing would qualify for prosecution.

Many people have thought of this before. Filming pornography is illegal in most of the US, except I beleive California, which is why all pornos are made there.

I've watched Real Sex for a total of 20 minutes in my life and this was the segment I saw. The difference is that these people knew each other.
