View Full Version : (11) Level 1 AK after a raise?

I’ve only been playing SNG’s for about a week, and am still trying to get a feel for them. Any feedback will be appreciated.

It’s the end of level 1, so I have no reads. I had just taken down a large pot two hands prior by inducing a river fold, so I haven’t shown any hands yet.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t15 (9 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx (http://www.zerodivide.cx/converter)

Hero (t1215)
MP3 (t680)
CO (t1160)
Button (t800)
SB (t305)
BB (t950)
UTG (t1565)
UTG+1 (t645)
MP1 (t680)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with K/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, A/images/graemlins/club.gif.
2 folds, MP1 raises to t100, HERO - ?

Please critique my thought process: I thought villain in a Party $11 could have, well, pretty much anything, but figured low PP, Ax, two sooted, or two broadway cards. I couldn’t decide whether to re-raise t200-300, or just call and play the flop (bet pot on A+rags or K+rags; bet pot if a raggedy flop got checked around to me; fold if someone bet a coordinated flop that missed me). I finally raised t300. Thoughts?

Raise is good. Here's (http://archiveserver.twoplustwo.com/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Board=&Number=591779&page=&v iew=&sb=5&o=&fpart=) a link that helped me when I was just starting out.

I'd probably raise a little more (to ~500) since you have everyone else covered, to tell them that you'll get all in if necessary.

OK, thanks for the replies, everybody. AK always makes me nervous for some reason, I prefer to just get it over. CP, that makes sense, thanks.
