Am I the only one that think these things suck? There was a 5$ MTT that had over 1000 players in it. Top prize was 800. Usually with a number this big the prize is something like 1100 or more.

Wouldn't a good/decent tournament player profit more from the old way?

What do you think?

I haven't played but it seems like it will be as easy as taking small amounts of candy from a baby.

considering the preamble of the poll, shouldn't the options be 'Yes, it sucks' and 'No, I like it'?

Yea, if you like making $2 profit, these are the best.

what's the story? they're paying 20% of the field instead of the standard? i don't play stars MTT's much - what's the standard? ~12%?

instead of 10%, and it's not as top heavy... first place was 800, second was like 600.

Stars pays out within a range so it's not a set %.. but the top of the range is like 10%.. bottom bit lower

Most people will probably instinctly hate this payout structure, but for larger buying tourneys like the big Sundays, its inevitable that there's a deal at the final table. Isn't Stars just listening to what the players want?

I think they are just wanting more people to feel like they got a small piece of the pie and therefore continue to keep playing. I would guess it might keep some people around longer, but would think it bad for the top tourny players. Don't know what the long term effect would be.

I'm not a big fan of how top heavy payout structures are, but what I mean by that, is I wish the money would be spread out more to the final table. 9th place on stars in a 109 the other night was $350 - first was 6k. I just wish they could stretch that out a little bit more.

I think in no way should more than 10% get paid. I would be happier if less than that got paid.

due to the flat structure of this poll.
