$11 MTT. Hands irrelevant, blinds irrelevant, player reads irrelevant. 3 players still in hand. Before the hand started, I have average stack in middle of tournament of about 9000t. I have since invested 1500t into the pot as have 2 others through post flop and turn play. River card falls --- board shows ROYAL FLUSH. I push my remaining 7500t into the pot, player immediately to my left folds and 3rd player calls. 2-way split. hehehe, can't believe he folded.

Someone folded with a royal flush on the board? Classic!

Maybe he thought you had an extra card up your sleeve and had quad aces.

I'm just trying to come up with any rationality for the decision to fold there.

I know. He must have thought the OP had the rare "Ace+1" card, and had a straight flush from Jack to Ace+1!

thinking he saw a BIG PUSH and had marginal cards in his hand and instincts took over, in other words he reacted too quickly. either that or he thought we were playing wild cards and i had 5 of a kind with only 2 cards in my hand.
