I'm not very good at these MTTs. Table has been very passive, and I have had little resistance to blind steals. Top 2 pays. I have very little table experience with MP, so I have no idea if he can lay down a hand.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t4000 (6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx (http://www.zerodivide.cx/converter)

Hero (t144541)
UTG (t237012)
MP (t66970)
CO (t134823)
Button (t89810)
SB (t64344)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A/images/graemlins/spade.gif, J/images/graemlins/diamond.gif.
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP raises to t12000</font>, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to t144341</font>

Here's the thing, I would insta-fold this in a SNG.

I think I favor calling and seeing a flop. You're getting a good price in the BB. If the table has been passive then he has some sort of hand. If he folds he'll now be in last place and with only the top 2 playing I think psychologically he doesn't lay down a pair here. So you're likely in a race situation, with some possibility of being dominated or dominating him (which kind of balance each other out). I could even see a stop and go here where you probably have more folding equity (even against a better hand) then by pushing pre-flop.

yes it's a satellite, and I thought this type of info matters when making decisions...

i didn't realize that you meant that 1st and 2nd paid equally although in retrospect i probably should've. so i thought maybe it was some weird 6-person stt or something. that's what i meant by "why is this here?"

now that i see what's going on, i definitely push this unless you know that villain is incredibly tight pre-flop.
