I've been sent a file from a friend and cant seem to find it. how does one go about finding them?

It's been years since I've used AIM, but mine used to go to C:\download\screenname

I think the path may be different now.

Try

C:\Documents and Settings\<Windows Login>\My Documents\download\<AIM Screen Name>

do you know the name of the file? you could always just do a search for it...

Close, but on my machine (using the default AIM install) they go here:
C:\Documents and Settings\<Windows Login>\My Documents\filelib\<AIM Screen Name>
