I'm looking for a website designer to do a website for my newly-started clothing line.

I want some (not much) flash and an integrated shopping cart.
Take a look at this site for what I have exactly in mind: http://www.karmaloop.com

I'm interested in paying from $200-$250.

If you are looking for a webdesigner try www.craigslist.org. (http://www.craigslist.org.) I put an ad on that site and got 50 responses in 1 hour.

Theres cheap and then theres cheap. $250 for an ecommerce site with flash similar to the one you listed is asking a web designer to work for a few bucks an hour.

You're probably going to get one of the worst websites in the world if you're only looking to spend that much. Web designers usually charge anywhere from $50-$120 per hour, depending on their skill level and the things you want done. You're probably looking at closer to $800-$1000 for a modest site with a shopping cart. The site you linked to would most likely cost you thousands of dollars.

Having said that, my vote for a web designer is at http://afterhoursdesign.net/

the other guys are correct. I will often contract out for friends at $30-$40 an hour, and that's dirt cheap in comparison to others.

If you're interested in some of the best design I've seen, check out Three Cell (http://threecell.com/threecell.html) He does great work.

try posting this in the east asia forum where you can get your very own 10yr old web developer to work for these wages. All sarcasm aside, this is obsurd. I did a site like this once and it ended up costing the company $2k when all was said and done.

Your only real option at that price is to get a premade template (try templatetuning.com) and configure it yourself. It's not going to be much better than trying to build a site on your own. $250 is dirt-ass cheap.

Not being willing to invest in a website for an online store doesn't make much sense from a business standpoint. It's like paying a few kids to produce your sign for a B&M store out of construction paper. This is the first thing people see when they hit your site. There are hundreds of other people doing the exact same thing as you on the internet. How are you going to convince them to shop with you if you have a $200 website?
