View Full Version : Announcing hand preflop

I was wondering what the 2+2's thought of this play...in one of the blind positions, announcing something like "c'mon diamonds" or "let's see 7-3-3." If it hits, you can bet at it as if you haven't. Of course, if it misses you may or may not have been telling the truth and can try to bet at it anyway.

I've never done it outside of a friendly home game and I was just wondering what others thought.

It depends on the table for me. If everyone seems to be all nitty or in some way not happy I avoid. If everyone is having fun I will. All the time and normally not what i am looking for. But sometimes when I am. I always try to talk about it to. But thats just because I try to make people listen to my words and not pay attention to my play.

If they suck it might work. Seriously.

I'd say this play will work to get calls more than it will to get folds.

My favorite is announcing to the table as you go all in (pre-flop or on the flop) I have aces /kings... call if you want.

Do you know how many times I have been called by QQ - 99 + AK / AQ on this play because they just don't believe you.

*NOTE* only try this at $100- $500 max buy-in games.
