Any reactions?

<font color="blue">"I ask my students, 'If you drive 45 minutes to play poker and have decided that winning $1,000 would satisfy you that day, what would you do if you won $1,000 in 15 minutes? Would you get up and leave?''' Vahedi said. "If they say no, they'd stay, then I tell them they aren't doing it the right way. They're playing for fun.''</font>

WTF? They are playing for fun because they can recognize and decide to stay in a really good game? Is he saying that if he were 'satisfied' with 1K and I gave him 1K and then offered him another 1K he'd be like 'no way man, that would just be taking money for fun. That's the wrong way.'?

I think that this assumption:

winning $1,000 would satisfy you that day

is the big problem right there. $s made shouldn't be a target for a day, # of hands and # of hours are both more objective.

If I sit down and the players suck, I'm not steaming and it's a +EV situation, it doesn't matter if I'm up or down on the day- I'm not goin anywhere for awhile.
