View Full Version : Calculations for folding into the money?

11-09-2005, 11:34 AM
OK, so I'm like this phenomenal MTT player but I was wondering if anyone has run a calculation of when you can safely fold into the money?

For instance, say it's 2am and you are dog tired and you have 4x average and there are 1000 left and top 200 make money... can you fold into the money and just go to bed?

I realize this may not be optimal MTT strategy but I wanted to know if any MTT master, maybe like Ansky, has done these calc's. yet?

Once I get a huge stack I like to give up and fold into the money, and go play Madden.

Once again, I'm a very very good MTT player.

Thanks for the help. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Oh, I read the other post now.

You aren't fooling anyone here into thinking you are a very good tournament player, and you should probably leave this forum, you are never going to get any kind of support for weak play like this, or stalling on the bubble, or limping with a raising hand on the bubble etc.

And if you are actually being serious, that is actually even worse, because you don't realize how weak you are when everyone is telling you that all of this is extremely weak tight.

Good day sir.

I don't get what your purpose is. You posted a hand where you said you did something terrible, then when people said it was terrible, you defended it. Now you make this random retarded post, for what purpose I ask?

You must be one tough SOB. Only a REAL MAN and REAL MTT SPECIALIST propels a chair over the table. I'm scared of you, sir. I hope a chair does not fly out of my monitor and strike me about the chin/nose/eyeball, because I'd have a lot of explaining to do to a lot of people.

He's an attention whore obviously. Probably best to just ignore him because all he is trying to do is get you and everyone else riled up (looks like he targeted you with this post), and he'll probably end up getting banned soon enough for trolling anyways.

Same purpose as you declaring me a poor player based on one hand of one event. Figure that out then let me know what it is.

Oh, don't worry. I won't be posting in here anymore.

I never play MTT's anyway. I play the skillful games. And I prefer to post in forums with skillful readers.

This forum is obviously very lacking, and the responses I get in here will in no way help my game.

Don't let the chair hit ya on the way out...

Although I am sure an angry 12 year old Green Day fan is making this post, I would like to ask one question regarding it. What about when the payout pays the same for 1st as it does for 15th (a.k.a Supersats). Is there a time when you have a huge stack that it would be +EV to play nothing and go off and maybe play a STT?
