I'd push preflop.

shove it PF

I'd go all-in preflop. Only AA-QQ have you beat preflop, anything higher than a J on the flop is going to cause you a lot of heartache.

With these blinds I'm inclined to push preflop.

??

The blinds are 25/50...3rd level. Hero has 20 bbs; is it really necessary to push here? JJ is not necessarily a monster hand 8 handed. I don't think a push is wrong, but I like a call a lot of times.

Your position does suck...did you have any reads on the villian?

calling leaves you with 8 BBs at the next level, which is still a bit of FE.

4th best hand, >50% chance of an overcard flopping and I'm out of position.

My hand isn't a monster, it's strong yet vulnerable to most flops that's why I prefer to have it all in preflop.

i didnt really have a read on the guy.....is my bet on the flop better then a check/fold instead....

If villain is raising AA-TT, AK, AQ, KQ, hero's a 51-49 dog. Is villain's range ever enough wider than that for hero to be a real favorite? Will villain fold the coin-flip hands here to a push getting in the neighborhood of 1.5-1?

Crappy spot either way, I guess, but I think I'm more likely to play it the way hero did than to push pre-flop with blinds at this level. Seems like if hero's going to bet the flop, though, it needs to be more than 150.

I just think calling with Jacks is never good. the 56% of the time overs flop you are gonna have to be at least semi-concerned. And then the other times if you are against AA-QQ and you get your unders you are still in trouble. This is my reasoning to push PF because they are so hard to play postflop.

Is folding JJ pre-flop in this spot a consideration, then?
