1st:

There are a total of 8 cards in a deck, 2 through 9.

There are 8 players at a table.

You play 8 hands of high card.

You are focusing on 1 specific players cards.

What are the chances that that specific player will get a different card each time, and not a repeat in 8 hands?

2nd:

There are 8 cards in the deck. 7 Kings and 1 Ace.

8 Players at the table. 8 rounds.

You deal 1 card to each player.

What are the chances that one specific player will receive the Ace all 8 times?

P(8,8)/(8^8) = ~.24%

...not overly confident in this, someone please affirm/correct

2nd:

(1/8)^8 = 0.00000596%

For the first one, there are 8 cards you can get the first time, 7 cards the second time, 6, and so forth.

So there are 8! ways this can happen. There are 8^8 ways to deal the cards to this player.

So .24%.

For the second one: 1/8 ^ 8.
