i think capping is fine, but i'd have to wonder about the turn call. he's pretty much screaming set or flopped straight.

i could see throwing in a turn raise and fold to a 3-bet, but him betting into you again both on the turn and river says he has something better than a pair (if he is a true TAG)- you think he'd play a draw/66-77 like this?

Villian is 10/4/2.33 after 100 hands???? Geez, I think I would fold this when he bets the turn. I don't think someone this tight gets crazy on the flop with a flush draw and I don't think he's calling preflop with 54. Your preflop and flop play screams overpair, yet he continues to pound at you? Not good.

I don't like your flop cap.
1) It puts in more money when you might be behind
2) It loses you half a bet when you're ahead, as you would have been able to raise his turn bet instead.
3) It denies you information about the strength of his hand.

If you call the 3-bet and raise the turn, you can safely fold to a 3-bet vs. this type of player, I think. As played you have to call down and hope he went crazy on a flush draw + pair.

Yuck. We are ahead of A /images/graemlins/spade.gif4 /images/graemlins/spade.gif, 66 and 77. We are behind 99-AA, a set of fours and a set of fives (quad 2s is unlikely.) Plus, with his AF villain really could 3-bet this flop with something like A5. When villain bets the turn there will now be 5 BB in the pot; I think with the hand range I'd rather invest two bets here and raise him than lose out on our portion of this pot and fold.
