I had CO pegged as a LAG. Hand seems pretty straightforward. Then he cr the river.

Easy raise. If he had AK, he raises PF. You want to get value out of your higher straight if he has the 8, wich he most likely does.

easy fold to his J9.

I figured he at least had a King. If he doesn't I don't see how he calls a 3 bet. I also figure there is an outside shot he has AK and there is no way to fold to the cap given he limped pf.

Meh, if his PFR > 20% you will see AK here never.

3-bet and watch him call/cap with any K, two pair, set, or lower straight.

Well I got lucky and just called because this was the one time this guy decided to mix it up and just limp pf with AKo

I agree though that in general he will call a 3 bet or even cap with a rivered 2 pair more often than he plays AK this way. So I was lucky but weak.

And when I said never I obviously meant "most of the time"... /images/graemlins/shocked.gif

The question is: against a known lag do you ever give him credit for AK here or do you just go ahead and 3 bet the river?

A lag raises AK preflop almost always. Plus we have 2 of the KK's. We'll rarely see AK here, sometimes a split, more probably a bluff.

Never ever ever ever ever. Not only is it unlikely based on hand reading, but it is mathematically unlikely as well. You are missing a ton of value not 3 betting here.

I played a hand just like this the other day, but I had KJ. I 3 bet the river just so he'd be hesitant to c/r me in the future lightly, you know, for metagame reasons or whatever. also my mouse was over the 'raise' button and I didnt want to move it all the way over to 'call' I was sure I chopped. nope.
