So did you lose to AA or QQ? /images/graemlins/tongue.gif The trifecta is solid tho - next time make sure to have 55 instead. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Beat J9o... It isn't the trifecta unless you win!

After the flop 3-bet I decided to shoot for the trifecta, and I was hoping his maniac ways would continue after the 2nd check-raise.

You must have had a pretty good read that he was a maniac, or the flop is the only street I like.

I had played with him for around 100 hands, all moves were very read dependent.

After a typical player raises UTG 6-handed, and bets/3-bets the flop, I go into c/c mode. I expect to be ahead infrequently but often enough to call down. Also, if I am ahead I prefer to keep feeding him rope and let him hang himself. The board isn't very draw heavy, especially to the type of hand that raises UTG preflop.

The OP's post didn't include a read, so I'm giving my thoughts on an unknown opponent.

Villian was 75/30/2.0 over 100 hands, so his UTG raise isn't scaring me that much. If he had 3-bet the turn, I would have only call/called (still thinking I'm ahead, but not sure enough to put in more than 2BB)

After he called the turn CR, I was very sure I was ahead and thought I would go for the trifecta. I normally bet this river, but thought this was as good a chance as I would have to squeeze in a 3rd CR. After being checked to, he hesitated for a few seconds and then threw in the river bet, and the dream was realized.

That's weird, it says 6-max, 6 handed. But, it gives actions for 5 players. I just looked at the first part.

It is 5 handed, but a player had just sat down at the table before the hand started. Looks like it fooled the converter.

nh. The river is beautiful if you know he can't check through with a decent pair.
