I had been playing solid values, hadn't shown down any junk, Villan seems to be a good player.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx (http://www.zerodivide.cx/converter)

MP (t1085)
CO (t2035)
Button (t790)
BB (t1950)
Hero (t1295)
UTG+1 (t845)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 5/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 5/images/graemlins/diamond.gif.

Hero raises to t500, 4 folds, BB is all in for 1950, hero?

In retrospect, I had been giving off a tight image and was under very little blind pressure, as was villan. I assume I should lay this down, right?

Thanks for any thoughts,

Doc

Yeah, you should lay it down.

I'm not sure I'd want to raise this UTG here, just because a UTG raise doesn't give off the same vibe at a 22 that it does with good players. Like...people will still be more than willing to come over the top with 88/AJs/KQs etc.

Since you say he seems like a solid player, you have to assume he has some respect for your UTG raise, thus his reraise should be a pretty big hand. At best a coinflip, at worst total destruction.

Hero stops being a tard and raising 500 with 55 for a start, and folds quickly. What the hell are you thinking?

I admit to being a tard here. /images/graemlins/smile.gif (and most other places too, come to think of it)

How good does my position here have to be to make this a reasonable steal attempt?

Thanks for any replies,

Only way I'm playing that hand is if I'm the button and one person has already limped in. Otherwise, fold preflop. Only t150 in the pot, wait wait wait.
