You know what album that is -

when you wish everyone was dead, the two outer hits too often, and you pray for a mugging so you can go after the guy and shove the gun so far up his ass he's burping gunpowder for the last minute of his life...

And then you smile at how absurd said mugger would look dead with a gun up his ass and how good it felt and how he deserved it....and how all ignorant bastards deserve at least a good sodomizing or a kick in the balls from Al Capone -

---------------------

When I get in those moods - only obscene loud feedback can save me -

I go for Everclear's Sparkle and Fade - and I crank it up till the subwoofers are starting to give out and then dial it back down just enough...

and you?

Slipknot's self titled album (debut I think). Its what I listen to on heavy lift days /images/graemlins/smile.gif. I love the overwhelming percussion and gross guitar.

I recognize that avatar -

it's basically the text from a Radiohead Video - which one I can't remember but I think it was on the Bends..

that's so cool.

Sparkle and Fade is great. I've been listening to it a ton the past few weeks while playing a game online that I won't mention in this forum.

But's it not really a "blow off steam" album for me. For that, I go with Reign in Blood.

yep...got it off a radiohead fan site about 8 years ago. Have not seen it since, so I don't feel like I'm stepping on anyone's toes. Stuey (the avatar god) formatted as best he could for 2+2 pleasure. Many thanks

BTW-I also like "Sparkle and Fade" for just a good old outlet to get the blood flowing. It's a good pre-drinking album.

Oh yes. Yes. Absolutely.

A close second to my #1 selection, contained in my response to the OP (The Great Southern Trendkill--Pantera).

Rage Against the Machine. Their first CD.

Nothing like 'Know Your Enemy' at ear splitting volume.

Not sure about the rest of you RATM fans but it seems to me that they became less and less angery with each CD. I guess it's harder to be pissed off at The Man when you are a muli-millionaire...

I hated like hell to see them disband but looking back, it may have been for the best...

The Great Southern Trendkill--Pantera.

This is a masterwork. There are moments of pure anger, absolute aggression, and blinding hatred, and it's all played about as well as these instruments can be played.

I know many folks prefer the earlier Pantera, and I see their point, but for pure anger, it's Trendkill for me.

I suppose an argument could be made for Black Flag's "Damaged." Try it--you'll like it.

I suppose if I could choose one song, though, I think maybe it would be tough to beat Nine Inch Nails' "March of the Pigs."

Old Rage, as well as Pantera do the trick for me.

Suicidal Tendencies' Lights, Camera, Revolution, two tracks in particular: You can't bring me down and Send Me Some Money.

Nice call on the Pantera record. Classic.

I first got into Radiohead with the Bends, and was blown away by OK Computer -

Kid A and Amenisac never did anything for me besides a couple tracks - I haven't heard Hail to the Thief yet, but I have a live concert from the past 5 yrs. on DVR that I have to watch -

If you're a musician, it's almost more fun to watch Radiohead play live then listen to the albums - the band is so flexible and guitar players will stop and pick up mallets for drums and let Yorke play guitar - anything to get that sound they want - any instrument.

And every single songwriter in the world wishes he wrote "Fake Plastic Trees"

Everclear, on the other hand, was always a terrible live act - always rusty and felt off key - their albums though (except for the last one) have always kicked ass.

Actually, the bass player/drummer quit and left Art alone with the Everclear name - he had a new group of musicians behind him but last I checked, the offical website was down.

But an interesting comment - I once read where Art was glad they signed to Capitol precisely because of the amount of push they put into Radiohead's 2nd album promotionalwise - I think they promoted about 4 singles before striking gold with "Fake Plastic Trees" - no matter how good you are, if the label isn't promoting the album, it'll always have medicore sales at best - About the only exception I've heard of in recent memory was Nirvana's Nevermind, which sold so many so fast unexpectedly that the promotional machine wasn't able to ramp up to speed till about 2 mil. copies -

No matter how you wanna spin it, the 90's were a great [censored] time for music, not this prepackaged prepubscent [censored] on MTV now - I just saw the new Nine Inch Nails video and all I could think about was "man, this guy USED to be Controversal?" Now he can't get arrested on MTV

No doubt. There's a couple weak tracks but most of it is very good to awesome. I don't think I'll ever get sick of Poison Was the Cure or Hanger18.
