I've been playing online poker for about 6 months... not very good but I enjoy it. I've never played live game face to face, but I would love to give it a try. I think tournaments could be a good way to get this experience cheaply. Does anybody knows if there are some regular venues in London for small entry tournament ... say up to 50 pounds?

This question has probably been asked a few thousands times so sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi,

You have a few options options: the Victoria casino in London (Edgware Road) has started running some £30 tournaments on what seems to be a semi-regular basis, although it's hard to get confirmatuion that they're going to keep running (it's mainly cash-oriented). It has a lot of tough players, be warned. It also runs small satellites for its regular festivals, which have high buy-in tournaments.

Also check out www.gutshot.co.uk (http://www.gutshot.co.uk) for details of private tournaments. Not far from London are the Luton Grosvenor casino and the Brighton Rendezvous casino (about 30 and 50 mins travel respectively) which both run tournaments most nights. Finally, there's apparently a weekly £30 tournament at Edmonton snooker hall, wherever that is (North London, I think). All the games I've mentioned are rebuy tournaments, and all pot limit no limit (the smaller ones are generally PL).

Hope this helps.
