Currently when I try to check the funds on my Neteller Debit card at the Neteller website I get a message along the lines of service currently unavailable. Is anyone else having a problem similar to this? If you are, have you tried to put money on the card, and take it off at a machine anyways? Were you successful?

Thanks

I just transferred funds to it to see if it's working and it went through just fine. I've never had a problem with the debit card.

I have the same message, and i could still use it at the atm. That money was already on the card, so i dont know if you can load it.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but this brings up a question for me. Are those NETeller ATM cards really worth it? It seems like the fees are outrageous. It's completely free to transfer to my bank account, so that's what I've been doing.

The fees are rediciously! If you can transfer to your bank and have no problems with the IRS then do that!

There's no tax on gambling winnings in Canada, so the tax man is a non issue.

It depends on how much you value convenience, I guess. I don't like having to wait days to get my money. If you transfer and withdraw more than $500 at a time, I think the fees work out to less than 1% to get in the cash in hand.

This is a good point. Currently my withdrawels are signifcantly lower than this, so the fees are rather punitive. Perhaps when I reach higher levels it will be worth it.

This is incorrect. Try out the search function. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've heard this before. Do you have a link to any discussion or CCRA docs on it?

Thanks,

In San Antonio we have Frost Bank. Their ATMs have a $500 limit per transaction and for some reason they don't charge a transaction fee for the Neteller card. So, I can transfer $500 to my card for $2.00 and all it costs me to withdraw the full $500 is the additional $1.50 from Neteller. This is pretty good for instant access.

If I was so inclined I could transfer $1000 to the card and withdraw it and it would only cost me $5.00 in fees.

one more hijack. If you have neteller in USD funds, can you withdraw from a Canadian ATM? Will neteller convert currencies for you at the ATM?
