Thinking about buying one, well a bunch of friends would all buy the same one and run on different channels.

Any model suggestions?
Suggestions in general?
Cost?
Timeframe to learn to fly?

take the cost and multiply it by about 450, because that's how many you'll need to buy after they all crash. factor in the time to order or drive to the store, etc as well.
