Both looked standard to me... just double checking.

1st orbit, no reads.

I limp J /images/graemlins/club.gif8 /images/graemlins/club.gif after folded to me in SB. BB raises, I call.

Flop 9 /images/graemlins/club.gif8 /images/graemlins/heart.gif3 /images/graemlins/spade.gif
-- I Check, bet, raise, 3-bet, call.
-- I'm thinking 9x or high pair right here. Maybe JT?

Turn J /images/graemlins/heart.gif
-- I Check, bet, raise, call.

River 9 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif
-- I Check, bet, call

Hand 2... only read is SB has raised my BB 2x so far (2 out of 2).

I have 7 /images/graemlins/spade.gif4 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif in BB, SB raises after its folded to him. I call.

Flop T /images/graemlins/diamond.gif7 /images/graemlins/heart.gif4 /images/graemlins/club.gif
-- He Bet, call

Turn K /images/graemlins/spade.gif
-- He Check, bet, raise, 3-bet, call

River K /images/graemlins/club.gif
-- He Bet, Hero is pissed off and?

Hand 1 I like. Good chance villian has a 9 and since he has no reason to suspect the J helped you, he bets. Now that the 9 hit, Any hand you logically put him on beats you, however, he could still have 8x or a confused 44-77. I do it all the same except I raise preflop. Given that I'm 3-bet, the rest of the hand plays out as it did.

From my experience, the way villian played hand 2 means he has a king. But since he knows this, he might be making a move with 89. Tough decision.
