Ok, i only want 4hard wired pcs. 2wireless laptops setup.

So i plan to buy a wireless router(which has adsl modem built in i assume).

So whats all the technical blah ? what do i need? Whats good and bad to have? Why pay 120 pounds when i can pay 40?

You can find wireless router/modem combinations, especially if your ISP provides "home network" solutions. But more likley you will just be getting a wireless router with a "LAN in" port that then connects to a separate cable or DSL modem.

The biggest technical blah is what substandard of 802.11 the router uses for communication. You most likely want to get G - it is capable of higher speeds, but is backward compatible with B.

Another bit of blah is encryption. Early routers are only capable of WEP, which is weak.

You will likely want to get something with WPA, which is stronger than WEP.
