What is the buyin? This is important is evaluating whether TPGK might be good.

I'd say either 10Q for the straight, or a couple non nut flush cards. Or, he made the turn bet to see if you had the flush, and once he realized you didn't, really liked his 2 pair or whatever.

Yea, I should probably have fired back on the turn getting more information about where I am in the hand. My flat call sends out a weak message here and his push on the river could be with any two cards. Not many hands I can beat here even tho my gut tells me to call.

Are you still doing the 'project' you planned this month? If so, how's it going?

Yupp its underway. Been placed ITM in a few tournaments, a few of them pretty deep (25th and 52th) but no big cashes yet so I am not that far ahead of my starting bankroll. But I am pretty sure I will soon reach a final table and go past the 500$ line. It will come.

I have also started playing 5+0,50 multi table sng now on Stars. They are quite nice with soft competition.

I am working on a website atm, and when it's done, I will post daily updates on tournament placings etc.

I'm your biggest fan. Anything from about $2,700 up and I'm the contest 'winner'. /images/graemlins/smile.gif If you're interested, one morning on the bus on the way to work I was bored and put together a spreadsheet with everyone guesses. I think there are about 10 that I would need to add from the last day before you started, but I could send it to you if you want.

I raise PF (perfectly happy to fold to a re-raise).

The purpose is double: Isolation (shutting the blinds and the most random two card combinations out), and building a pot big enough to make a decisive bet on the flop, should I hit it.

Not raising (and playing in a 5-way pot) pretty much forces me to fold anything but top two and str8s if there's any significant action.

With t100 already in the pot and blind levels of 10/20 a bet of t75 on the flop is only going to fold the absolut misses. In a $5 buy-in the bet is just not enough to fold even the most far fetched draws. At the same time you're building a pot that more difficult to get away from on the turn. I'd consider either (most likely) checking the flop and folding the turn, or (rarely) over-betting the flop like t200. If I'm called I'm done with the hand.

If you had raised PF and UTG+1 had called you would have had the option of making a consequential bet on the flop, giving you information much easier to interpret here.

In this case on the river, in addition to flushes, str8s and sets you could likely be facing a King with a J, 9, 7 or 6 kicker or J9. There's no way of knowing, and it's a clear fold.

Best,

McMelchior (Johan)
