This took place quite a while back but it's been on my mind ever since and I haven't been able to come to a decision one way or another, so figured I'll try to get some input.

Villain is decent, not very aggressive, not particularly tricky or imaginative. Plays pretty solid, ABC poker. I'm one of the most aggressive players at the table. The game, from what I recall, is fairly loose/passive.

Villain - MP2(1600)
Hero - Button(2200) - K /images/graemlins/diamond.gifQ /images/graemlins/spade.gif

2 limeprs, I make it 40 to go (I limp/raise this about 50/50), Blinds fold, fist limper folds, Villain calls.

Flop: 3 /images/graemlins/club.gif 5 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 7 /images/graemlins/heart.gif

Villain checks, Hero bets 75, he calls.

Turn(240): 9 /images/graemlins/spade.gif

Check, Hero bets 200, Villain considers for about 5 seconds and calls.

River: J /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

Villain checks, Hero...?

Obviously it's a little harder to say not being there, but what's the SOP for most posters here? Check the turn? Keep trying to take it down? Give it up?

Thanks,
Kirk

yeah i see a middle pair or an AK...but with such a bland ABC player a PP is more likely...push it hard on the river id say, i cant see a call here....

I'm representing a high PP (in my mind I was thinking QQ), and a high PP would bet that turn 90% of the time. If I don't bet it becomes obvious what I have and I have no chance to take down the pot on the river when I miss.

Having said that, I'm not really sure that checking the turn would've been all that awful either... I'm just really undecided on the best way to play that, period.
