View Full Version : Straight & Flush draws heads-up

I wasn't really sure about any street with this.

Decided to peel one off here with my queen being live, after the ace folded third.

Fourth, I thought I should bet with a four-flush. I was planning to bet out fifth, but I don't know that I have enough to raise here.

On sixth, I thought I'd do better just to take the free card.

I 3-bet the river because villain looks much more likely to have a straight than a boat.

I play this pretty much exactly the same way.

Since you are closing the action on 4th you can take a free card, but the bet is good too since your draw is fairly live and you'll probably get a couple callers.

The river I might just call the reraise, it looks like he may have hit two pair on fifth when he leads out after you bet so my guess is he improved on the river when he raises you, but when he doesn't cap it I think your probably good.

I agree with the river play since he isn't full due to his sixth street check. With a big draw like this, I would raise 5th, probably take a free card.

Simon, I find myself folding these on third.

Fourth is fine.

Fifth, a raise here might be ok. you could get him to fold which would be fine, and you may even be a $$ favorite. (If the other guy stays in, raising is a must.)

6th perfect, 7th I go three bets here too, and puke if he goes 4 bets.

I like the raise on 5th. You are better than even money to make a straight or flush(14 cards out of 35 with 2 draws)& may obtain a free card on 6th if needed. Rest looks perfect, imho.

I raise this on 5th every time, and take the free one on 6th if I don't improve. Great hand showing for the free card trick.

Definitely raise 5th. You are very likely slightly ahead in equity at this point, and it gives you more options later: you might be able to steal if you make an open pair or hit a 6, or you take the freecard if you miss completely, or you hit one of your many outs and have already got more money in the pot.

3rd - two clubs out but for the $2a definite call.
5th - as the peanut galleryhas said, raising looks attractive.
6th - if you riased 5th and did not hit on 6th, a free card looks good as a bet will not likely get your opponent out.
7th - well played.

I limp on third all day, but folding wouldn't be terrible. Fourth is definitely worth a bet. Fifth is worth a raise. Even if the other guy has Kings and Jacks, which is being pretty generous, you're a money favorite. By sixth, however, you've turned into a money dog. Bet if you think there's a decent chance that he'll fold, but I don't think there is. I think the three-bet on the river was appropriate.
