3/6 Stars. Villain is a good player who is definitely a winner in this game.

Villain has $600, I cover.

I get A /images/graemlins/heart.gif K /images/graemlins/spade.gif in SB.

2 early limps and I raise to $40. Villain calls in BB. Both limpers fold.

Flop is 5 /images/graemlins/heart.gif T /images/graemlins/heart.gif 5 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

I bet $65. Villain almost instantly min-raises me to $130. You know, the almost insta-min-raise. I think there may be a good chance he's putting a play on me here because of my rather large raise preflop. He might have put me on a high ace. I decide to pop it back to $240. Villain calls. (yikes?)

Turn is 7 /images/graemlins/heart.gif

Villain has $320 left and I set him all-in.

Good defense of my flop bets or mindless chip spewing?

Fold to the first raise. Then fold to the other, like, 13 times he bet and or raised.

I think you need to reraise an extra 50-100 on the flop if you want him out. Once he calls, I shutdown, or in your case, take the free card. I dont like it, but it isnt that bad either (he may fold, you have alot of outs, good to get paid off in future)

He folded.

Slow down a little before posting results.

The turn's a good card to fire the big second barrel with against a thinking foe, since it's scary and gives you a ton more outs.

donk donk donk donk

If you want to get all aggro here, just push the flop. He is gonna have JJ or thereabouts a lot, and if you are tight in general he will probably fold it (Sometimes he will have TT, though). If you try to get fancy and donk-3bet the flop then push the turn, he will call twice b/c you priced him in, and b/c people have trouble folding to small bets.

pushing the fop here is good... pretty obvious he has JJ/QQ and most winning 3/6 players wont call... he obviously minraised for info here, so give him some info.. the way you played it with that tiny reraise is pretty retarded and im surprised he folded getting such a sick price.

Thanks for the responses, guys. I certainly wouldn't have played this any other way against anything but a good player, which I certainly believe him to be. I guess I made a small raise back at him because I wanted to have an escape clause, when in fact I should have pushed, knowing that if he had TT this player would not have min. raised, but probably just called.

Shorter thread:

Ryan - Look how good I am!
Other posters - Maybe this could have been played another way.
Ryan - No, look, it worked! I'm really smart!

End thread.

It's not my fault if you don't think at the level required by this hand (which isn't a particularly high level). Go back to your microlimit game.
