Probably I should have folded preflop. Check-calling after flop seems very bad.

I raise this from the SB unless I have a special read that the BB is a sponge.

Induce turn and river bluffs by checking to him and letting him fire away when you have a weaker made hand.

I don't think you played this wrong at all. I might've check/called the turn and led the river though. I also might've checked the turn and rivers, and folded to a river bet if he bet on both streets. I think they are viable options, but if he wants to bluff raise the turn in a tiny pot, it'll catch up to him eventually

By the title of the post and by showing the results I thought you meant how to treat this opponent in the future. You played this hand fine.

In the standard blind-fight at party 3-6, your opponent has no idea how to play HU and are often FOS.

Sooo, if you havent gotten frisky with someone in the blinds before and you have something, consider calling them down to see what they are up to.
