Anybody use this product? How does it work with a firewall at the offsite computer and/or the home computer? How is internet access reported to the offsite logging systems?
Thanks.

Why don't you call them?

What you think we are gotomypc support or something?

Want to play poker from work, eh? This product is great for that. You will need a high-speed connection on your home computer that is always on.

You will need to configure your home computer's firewall to allow the program to access the internet - it should automatically prompt you to do this when you install it. Performance is not affected by any firewalls at the offsite computer.

I think GoToMyPC costs like $20/month, with a free evaluation period. There is another free product called WINVNC which does excactly the same thing, but it is not as user-friendly and is difficult to setup through firewalls and routers.

Thanks for the info. I saw an ad on the TV for a free trial test and wondered if it would do the trick. My real problem isn't so much monitoring as those damn net nannies that won't let me access gambling (or anything else interesting) sites.

What kind of moron are you? Like their sales people would give me the type of feedback I want? You must be one heck of a /s/t/u/p/i/d/ gullible dude.

VNC is a better alternative, because it's free, and it's really not that hard to setup.

I use it and its great for remote access. However, its sometimes a bit too slow for playing poker on it as the screen updates sometime have a bit of a lag.

For example, I once tried to buy into a Party table and by the time the screen had updated the 10seconds allowed to buy in had expired.

In summary, its great as a general remote access tool but don't rely on it to play poker from afar.
