I don't quite understand how Check-Raising someone on the flop who has a Flush or Open End Straight Draw is effective. Lets say there is 4 people in the hand ($2/4 game) and $8. You have AQo and the board is Ac Jc 5d. You are first to act, you check, 2nd player bets, 3rd player calls, 4th player folds. When it gets to you, there is $12 in the pot. You raise, now there is $16 in the pot for the original better, who is on a 4 Card Flush draw. He is calling your raise with 8:1 pot odds on his draw now! How is Check Raising effective in Low limit games?
Im not saying its not.. Im just trying to do the math.
Thanks in advance for any help

When you are planning a check-raise in this situation, you are hoping a late-position player bets so that you end up confronting everyone else with calling a double-bet. In this case, if it was checked to player 4 and he bet, then you raised, player 2 would now be calling $4 in a $14 pot (pot odds of 7:2, which is not quite enough to call with a flush draw if you're looking only at the next card).

In your scenario, the player on the flush draw still ends up paying 2 bets to see the turn, he just ends up paying them one bet at a time. Your check-raise didn't work out exactly as you hoped, but you still got him to pay 2 bets with a drawing hand.

Wouldn't you want someone to have to pay 2 bets to when you have a 65% chance of winning the pot and he only has a 35% of winning the pot.

It is often incorrect for the person on a draw to fold regardless of whether you check raise or not, but you might as well get him to put in 2 bets while you are still winning.

Just My Thoughts,
