Sports news is talking about A-Rod and his habit of visiting illegal poker clubs in NYC. Any witnesses? What games does he play?

When you hear on the radio that A Rod has been told by Yankee management to stop going to underground poker clubs it makes you stop and wonder.

If you do a search there have been a couple of posts - try B&M- about ARod playing low limit at a few clubs around the city.

I wouldn't call 10/25NL low limit.

i have a friend and infrequent poster who saw arod at a club about a year ago. he was at the now defunct playstation. it caused such commotion that they told him not to come back for fear of publicity.

"When does this become a problem for Arod that he's rubbing elbows with gamblers"

Wow we are really dirty people folks.

A-Rod was at Bellagio this past weekend, playing 10/20 NL on Thursday night (friends saw him) and then I caught him coming in on Saturday to play before getting sucked into Bobby's Room and having a chit-chat with and sweating Jennifer and others before leaving without playing a hand.

I'll guess they gave it a go to coax him into the game but it didn't work out.

i was on my way to a different game and saw A-Rod at the bellagio with an an open seat at the table. i decided it would be fun to sit in the game. he was pretty good. seems to have a sound understanding of the game. did not get out of line. did not call raises with insufficient values, seemed to try to extract the maximum on his big hands.

i wouldn't either, but I'm sure A-Rod would. I bet his competitive nature has him fighting for every pot, at least every regular season pot.

How else do you get into the "Playoffs of Poker"? You have to win the most pots, that's how! Once you make it past the playoffs, you can play in the World Series of Poker!111!!!

I have this feeling that he bubbles out quite often.
