The dude's giving me 3-1 here. Probably wants a call. But it's small enough (I think?) that I can call it. I dunno, this was a tough spot. I think it's either slowplayed trips or a donk bluff. Cept it's not too donkish considering it's got me in a mindfuck.

I would think that he either hit his straight draw or else he was check calling with a 6 and then thinks he can bluff at it on the end.

I hate situations like that. With no jack on the board i would bet again on the end or else check/call. Unless you have played with the guy before or got a read on him i think you have to call and hope you are ahead.

Ofcourse I am probabrly wrong!

This stinks of a nine to me. Other possible hands are a mid pair (88, 77) or 87, which just made a straight. He must have hit the flop in some way else he wouldn't call with so many to act behind him. I don't see him betting a 6 on the river.

I'd fold because 88 and 77 are a very small subset of his possible hands. Also, the bet amount is suspect. If he just had a mediocre hand, he'd bet small if he bet at all, to get calls from worse hands. And he'd bet a round number. Him betting exactly half the pot implies to me that he's particularly interested in his hand and that he's keen to bet the absolute biggest amount you'll call.

Actually, I wouldn't be that surprised to see a full here. I understand that 69 is a popular hand amongst some players. Some sexual reason I think, not sure exactly what as I'd never associate myself with something so base and disgusting.

Interesting observation! I never really consider that kind of thing but I think I'll start.

PS 96 is know as "Big Lick."

i think you're beat here. either flopped trips or donk called all the way down with 78. plus there's a jack overcard. i think you have to let this one go.

i think you lost too much, too early in the game with this hand.
i think the coldcall on the flop screams a 9.
i think you should have checkfolded the turn.

Save your chips for a better spot further down the line.
