My iPod stopped working, and according to the guys at Techserve, it is not repairable. It is no longer under warranty.

Options as for what do do with my new $300 paperweight are:

1. Chuck it at someone I don't like.
2. Chuck it through the window of someone I don't like.
3. Sell it on eBay for parts for $50.
4. Pay Crimson to eat it.
5. Turn it into some sort of modern art.
6. Play a terrible joke on someone where I take their iPod and then smash a decoy (mine) on the floor.

Pick one or fill in your own.

4 or 6 would are definitely the best options, provided you video tape and post the results.

Slather it with mayo and butter, stick it on a bun, with lots of cheese and eight strips of double thick bacon and offer it to Ipodkid for lunch.

OR sell it as working, and get insurance on it....

not that I recommend this.

I'm assuming you've tried going to an apple store and trying to return it anyway?

would that work? I know Apple can tell by the serial number when and where it was sold.

I was also thinking about doing a return switch at Costco, since they take back anything.

if the hard drive isn't dead that should be easily resold to people with mini-laptops, lots of them use 1.8" hard drives

The hard drive has head-crashed.

Worth a try, all reports are that apple has been v. good about replacing these things. 'CAUSE THEY BREAK ALL THE [censored] TIME.

(mine has broken and magically came back to life this week).

1,000. I'll eat the ipod. We have to find some way to make the glass safe to eat.

Edit: Joke BTW
