600 with a 21% ROI. With me being away and then not playing at Party for a while, I played SnGs ~2.5 weeks in October.

I said I'd play 150 SNGs this month, go to all of my classes, and watch the Badgers go undefeated. I met two of those goals /images/graemlins/frown.gif.

Party
33s - 112 played - 21.75% ROI

11s - 69 played - 19.89% ROI

Stars
60s - 3 played - 37.5%ROI
27s - 145 played - 2.3% ROI

Plus a few MTTs. Overall +$1692 12.75% ROI.

How do you figure your $/hour rate?

Is it strange that most of my finishes are in fifth place (about 21%)? 43% ROI and 45% ITM at the $11 level. It's a tiny sample size but I want to stop leaks early. It seems like I can get to 5 handed easily but with a stack of T500-1200 and getting blinded off fast, I find that I push at the wrong time a lot.

Hourly rate, you need to know how much time your've spent playing and your total profit. = profit/hours.

Your sample is probally very small. 21% for one place is VERY high, and your 43% ROI is unsustainable unless you're a very good player (people good enough for this shouldn't be playing $11s).

You can't use your sample to find leaks, it's just too small.

Nice brag /images/graemlins/wink.gif

What's the best way to find total time when you're multi tabling? Add the times from the longest game in each session and divide by number of sessions? Or just keep track of total # of sessions and multiply by 45 minutes to get a bad estimation?

This is fun.

228 22's = 20.06% ROI

156 11's = 20.05%

6 33's = -69.70%

1 55 = -250%

Mr_J

Either time your sessions, use pokertracker or sng tracker, check your HHs, or guess.

11-01-2005, 01:17 AM
Poker Tracker will calculate it for you.

11-01-2005, 01:22 AM
The problem with sng tracker is that the total time is cumulative so if you're consistently 8-tabling then the $/hour rate it spits out would be 1/8 of what it actually should be, I think. Or say you finish two tables in 45 minutes, sng tracker would give a total time of 1:30.

I haven't bought poker tracker.

Played disgustingly little, because the only period I really had time to play ended up being during the Great Split, when I ended up having to wait for transfers to go through. Had unsustainably good stats (with odd distribution) during the time I did play, so relatively happy.

8 30s
39 20s

Distribution: 13%/25%/21% (59% ITM, 61% ROI), ~ $550 profit, plus getting knocked out of my one MTT for the month 53rd (out of 2500) after leading the tournament 4 hands earlier, for a $60 profit. /images/graemlins/mad.gif

[/ QUOTE ]You probably can't. But, you don't need that sort of win% to sustain a higher ROI. For instance, last month in the Stars 15s, I had an ITM of 45% and a ROI of 25%, but my win% was only 14% (much lower than your 20%). Oh, I finished 4th 10.5% of the time.

(This is not meant as a brag (not that 25% is outstanding) -- though that seems acceptable in this thread -- just pointing out that there are ways to a higher ROI that don't include a 20% win%.)

ITM: 22%
ROI: $-560

I can normally show a 15%-20% profit month on month but October has really dented my confidence and my bankroll. This is my first losing month in about 16 months of online play so hopefully November will see me winning again.

What IS scummy is someone trying to dirty someone's name on a board. Maybe I disagreed with some poker advice you gave a while ago? I dunno. Maybe I disagreed with some poker advice a friend of yours gave a while ago? I dunno. Maybe you just hate the fact that I'm a better player than you? I dunno. Now for god's sake, give it a rest. Thanks for your input. I have a hunch that I play too aggressively. If it goes well, most of the time I kick out all the other aggro players at or near bubble and there are only weakies left at ITM who I just steamroll within a couple of hands.

It's a fun style but has quite some variance. And, of course, I have no idea what the long term ROI could be with that style. This month I will try a more patient style.
