I thought it was discovered that the play money tables weren't actually eligible for this promo?

Ok, hand 29600000 is finished, nothing left to see here.

The amusing thing is that it was very hard to find a table at the last minute. Presumably thousands of people tried to log on at the last minute to have a chance to be in this hand, which means that every partially full table suddenly filled up... and then half emptied again as 5000 players left their tables all at once.

so the gray box at PP says 101010 won it. So getting potted even with the winner does you no good, the flush won the Lions share of the jackpot, interesting........

So you need to be the b ig stack at the table to win the main award. Thats interesting, so play NL tables and have the big stack, and you are guar. to win the lions share.

Wow, you're right. The player with the full house didn't win the jackpot, the player with the flush got it!

The rules state that "the winner of the hand" will get 50% of the jackpot, and the remaining 50% will be split among everyone else at the table.

So you would think that the winner of the main pot, the one with the best hand, would be considered the "winner of the hand". Apparently not.

Exactly. What this means is if there were two very big stacked players at the table which is going to win the jackpot, all both of them have to do is go all in with any 2 cards. If one of them gets a 9 high, and the other gets ten high, the Ten high hand wins the jackpot... even if other players at the table have quads or a straight flush.

This is goofy and makes no sense. If I were the player with the full house at this table, I would be sending some angry email to partypoker on this one.

Maybe because the flush winning the larger of the two pots was the determining factor not the beginning stack size.

It's possible.

iirc this same thing happened the last time a site did a milestone hand thing, might have been stars. the winner of the jackpot is the person that invested the most in the hand and won.

If I were the player with the full house at this table, I would be bitching to everyone I knew about PartyPoker, then quitting forever - while considering killing myself

Actually makes some sense.
Otherwise, players will just buy-in for the minimum possible.
Then they will be getting great odds to just push pre-flop.

BTW - the most amazing thing about this hand was that someone actually folded pre-flop.

Its not really that amazing because they probably had no clue what was going on. If they did UTG would have open pushed.
