Some basic questions . . .

How does one request a seat change? What is the effect of a change? Does that require the moving party to post an additional blind?

How does one request a table change?

Once a player is seated, how are additional chips purchased?

At the 3-6 and 4-8 levels, what is an adequate tip for the dealer, considering the rake is pretty heavy?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

How does one request a seat change?

Simply tell the dealer "I'd like to make a seat change if Seat # _ becomes available". The dealer will tell you when you can move.

What is the effect of a change?

Not sure what you want to know. Obviously, you're sitting in a new seat.

Does that require the moving party to post an additional blind?

If you move more than x(3?) seats to your left, then you usually have to post a blind. Different poker rooms have different rules here.

How does one request a table change?

Ask the floor manager "Can I move to Table #x when it's possible?" The floor will let you know when you can move.

Once a player is seated, how are additional chips purchased?

You can ask the dealer for chips. Either the dealer will give you chips out of the rack or the dealer will call for someone to get chips for you. You won't have to do anything but give your cash to a poker room employee.

At the 3-6 and 4-8 levels, what is an adequate tip for the dealer, considering the rake is pretty heavy?

Many people will tip $0.50 every time. Others will tip $1.00 everytime. Bigger tips are seen with bigger pots. Of course, some people don't tip at all. If you want to tip, then I would say the minimum would be $0.50 on small to medium pots and $1.00 minimum on medium to large pots. If you tip $1.00 everytime, the dealers will be very happy. If you tip $0.50 everytime, the dealers will be satisfied.

The only time I've ever tipped "big" was when I won bonus money. At the Monte Carlo, you get additional money if you make four-of-a-kind or a straight flush. When I made quad 7s recently, I received a ~$380 bonuse from the house. I gave a $50 tip to the dealer.
