Very first game of the tournament, so no reads at all. I figure I call a small/med raise, but I don't see that my implied odds justify a call here.

Thoughts? Do I call this, or play it completely differently?

Not that much. Sucks a 5 flopped but good fold.

I fold this also, and I usually play t1500 games. In a party SNG it is a pretty clear fold. you practically need to be guaranteed to take the raisor's whole stack everytime when/if you hit a set.

Im much tighter then most people on this forum, but i would go ahead and even fold it preflop if you kno the table was agressive.

Fold.

As far as how much to pay, I'd limp UTG, and if there's a minraise, call the minraise too. You're basically just looking to get in cheaply for set value on the first hand. Even better, since it's a party $11 (my game of choice also for now), if you do actually make a set cheaply, you're practically guaranteed that at least 1 donk will go crazy with an Ax hand or TPTK and you can suck them all-in without too much work.

Well, at the $11 on Party, you can expect to get paid off quite often. MP3 put in a stiff raise. Generally this means he has a good hand. One that he potentially will back with the rest of his stack (hopefully AA or KK). Also, you can expect MP1 to call most of the time as well. Additionally, 55 are easy to play post flop; No set no bet. This is a close play for me. A lower raise is an easy call. A higher raise is an easy fold. This might be borderline at least for me. Also consider how good you are. Do you like to fold your way to the bubble and then pushbot? Do you play better with a big stack early? Do you mind losing chips early by taking chances like these? I think it all depends on you style of play and how good you are. I would call here but I wouldn't argue against a fold either.

LOL, no. I play $55s. I just had a hunch a 5 might have flopped or you wouldn't have posted /images/graemlins/smirk.gif
