X-posted from tech help in case those bastards are of no use.

----------------------------------

I'm hosting a p**** tourney this weekend, and I'd like to use a big-screen TV as a monitor for my tournament software.

How can I do this?

My laptop doesn't have a video output jack (I don't see one anyways).

Is there an adapter of some sort I can buy to connect via the monitor port?

your laptop should atleast have a 15 pin vga connector on the back of it.

anyway the rez on your TV is gonna suck.

if you have a vga connector then you should be able to convert that to something that you can input into your TV. It is really gonna depend on your TV to determine what you need to buy.

the simplest way to do this as i understand it is by using an ati card with ati's dvi-to-component adapter, but it can still be accomplished over dvi/hdmi with tweaking to eliminate overscan. near-full widescreen resolution, i mean.

I have the external version of this for tv on my pc does this work in reverse?

I thought the componet was for input only such as cable box, DVD, VCR and camcorder.

Or ar we not talking about the same thing?
