Hello Trout world,
I have taken on the responsibility for posting the invitation and results
for Atlantic/Pacific and Heads Up, games on Wednesday and Thursday. Doc
Physic has done an admirable job these past few years. Wednesdays have
become my 'night out with the boys" with the luxury of not having to leave
the house. and as far as you know, I may play naked.
Atlantic and Pacific have had a core of regulars over the years that have
made it a pleasant refuge from the ruthless games we all play on a regular
basis. Atlantic and Pacific have friendly banter aspect that is most often
found in home games. A night without moranic complaining, a night without
profanity, a friendly game of poker. I enjoy it and have taken on the task
of organization so it will continue.
Please feel free to make suggestions. We have changed the day of the week in
the past for instance, to accomodate the majority of schedules.
Most importantly, if you see an article or post of interest or humor, please
let me know and i will include a link.
Lastly, if you wish to recieve an email reminder simply reply and I will add
you to the list.
Very lastly, if you wish to take over this incredible responsibility I will
consider an early retirement. Assuming I can retire at my current salary.

Jolly good show, Dr. I'm in.

As for the good Dr.(Jekyl)'s last week results, I wish to make it perfectly clear that there is absolutely NO truth to the rumor that tournament organizers get AA once in every 26 hands instead of 221.

Jeez, this time change thing that most of the country clings so dearly to has me befuddled. In Arizona, we have no "fall back", "spring ahead", set your watch to or fro one hour every 2 quarters BS.

If it is 20:00 hours MFFEST (Military Friggin Easternmost Stoopid Time) right now, what time is it in NPNCTZ (Normal People Never Change Time Zone)?

I want to play on Wednesday, but will either be 1 hour early or 2 hours late depending on who sprang forth, fell back or forgot to change anything.

I'll register for the Atlantic sometime before the Little Hand is on the 4 and the Longer one is nearing the 12 here and hope I'm close.... I guess.

Then, is there an extra hour before the WTFIWCTN (WTF Is West Coast Time Now) tourney starts? Or do they actually overlap even more (Skipper won't have to worry about this since he is out so early every time) because there is one hour less between the opposing coasts?

Easy, we set our clocks back 1 hour and you didn't so 20:00 (8:00 P.M. eastern) is really 9:00 pm for you minus 3 hours = 6:00 pm Arizona time, I think?

Toro,

Sorry, I think your calculation is off by one.

is a bit confusing.

Look at it like this:
Arizona is Mountain Time Zone. They never change to Daylight time. Therefore all summer they are 3 hours behind EDT (which is Stars Lobby Time in the summer), and all winter, when we change our clocks back, they are 2 hours behind EST (which is Stars Lobby Time all winter).

But you did get the right answer:

The 20:00 = 8:00PM EST game will be at 6:00PM MST in Arizona.

In fairness to Bunnie, he arrived late to the table without a note for being tardy. He and I went at it for 45 minutes as he came back from T900 or so to lead big before the big blinds turned it into a crap shoot. vgg

Doc and I wennt at it for 35 minutes, with significant lead changes. I didn't see a face card for the first 20 minutes, which means I got all my good cards when the blinds were large.....makes it easier.

Thanks for all who participated this week.

Actually Dr. Jek and I had a whole lot of fun. Even if he did have a real hand when I thought he was pot poaching.

And the previous match was just too enjoyable. Love them rivers huh, mega?
