View Full Version : Party 3 billionth hand promo

here (http://www.partypoker.com/news/events/3_billionth_hand.html)

Since party clearly has rocket scientists working on their promotions department, they thought it would be a good idea to let play money tables be eligible. So if a play money table hits 3 Billion (which would be a joke), they split 10k instead of a real money 200k.

Support,
As a real money player, I feel we should be the sole recipients of real money promotions. However, upon looking at the 3 billionth hand promotion terms, I saw that PLAY money tables were elibigle for REAL money prizes. This is unacceptable to me. Please change the terms to exclude play money tables

Reef,

Does that mean you are also against freeroll tournaments?

From the link...

"Players who are sitting on tables with one of the lucky 10 hands, playing either $2/$4 limit tables or lower, or $50NL/$50PL or lower and those playing tournaments will share:"

So tournaments are treated like the low-limit tables...

Think of it as they are giving money to the super fish who will come to your table and in turn give it to you /images/graemlins/smile.gif

When they received the terms and conditions of the promotion, they began to grumble against PartyPoker. "These players on the play money tables pay no rake," they said, "and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the rake."

"But PartyPoker answered one of them, 'Friend, I am not being unfair to you. Didn't you agree to the terms and conditions of the promotion beforehand? Take your winnings and go. I want to give the play money players prizes as I gave you. Don't I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?'"

Now that's what I call not paying attention. If I was on that table it would be "all you can eat, baby". Tourney tables got $6000 and winner gets half of that right?

Closest I got on my 4 tables was -300 and +200. My other table had a lot of zeros but it was 2955001001

Any idea how often each of targets will be hit?

grjr

If you guess an average of 4000 hands a minute that leaves 1250 minutes until the next one or around 21 hours. So somewhere around 1PM EST on Monday is my guess for the next one.

Party had some downtime last night so that may have slowed things down some. Tomorrow's hand should come midafternoon again.

Looks like erikos2 lost about $3000 on that 9 on the turn. Talk about your bad beats. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Edit: Oops, didn't notice that I01010 had a flush. Kinda would suck if BarbaraBen gets the whole $3750 winner's share since she was all-in for a small amount. Wonder how that actually works. /images/graemlins/confused.gif

10-31-2005, 06:01 PM
I01010 won the $3750, this was announced in a popup.

I actually disagree with this, as it means that the best hand, the one which won the main pot, did not win the money.

It means that the big stack at the table in no limit could theoretically win the jackpot with Ten high, even if others at the table had quads or a straight flush.

10-31-2005, 06:05 PM
Another amusing thing I noticed, half the players at the table, if not more, clearly failed to notice that they were in the jackpot hand.

A player in no limit could simply go all in before the flop, everyone else would fold, and they'd win $3750 (or whatever) just for noticing which hand they were in.

It seems that the way to go for this jackpot is to play shorthanded no limit tables, as if you do end up in the proper hand, you can go all in and they'll all fold... and if you don't win the jackpot, you still split 50% with the rest of the players, so you want shorthanded instead of full ring to have as few people splitting it with you as possible.

10-31-2005, 06:06 PM
I mentioned something similar in another thread and I totally agree with your thinking. Everyone goes all in and one of the 2 big stacks win I guess.

Things that make ya go "hmmm...."

Dear Reef,

Thank you for contacting us.

We apologize for the previous incorrect response sent to you regarding the 3 billionth hand promotion that play money players are also eligible if the hand is hit at these tables.

We would like to clarify and confirm that Play money players are not eligible for this promotion. This promotion is only for the Real money players and only at the Real money tables.
