View Full Version : Bad Line or Unlucky?

Hey folks. One of my friends introduced me to these forums in the last week and I can not even begin to tell you how much my game has improved overnight. It's kinda sad when you realize how bad of a player you were.

I had a semi-interesting hand today, and since I've learned so much from reading analysis of other peoples hands, I figured I'd contribute one for people to comment on.

For reads, Villain seemed to be one of the stronger players at the table. Not particularly loose or tight. The other players who limped in were very loose and were seeing a lot of flops. Looking back over it, my flop bet was a bit weak with the straight draw, flush draw, and an overcard, but the pot was pretty small. I'm mostly just wondering if I should have pushed a lot harder on the turn once I made the king high straight.

I would have thrown a bet out there on the river instead of check calling, you now have a straight, and probably got him beat right now. I'd bet about 300 there.

Yeah, the TJQK on the board was worrying me though, with my soft bets, his range had a lot of Ax hands.

Oh, and the "or Unlucky" obviously means that he had an ace. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Just because I know the result doesn't mean I'd play it differently. If he raised me there, I'd be thru with the hand cuz I'd be sure I was beat.

I mean, if you want to get results oriented, fold preflop.

Really? 10 chips to complete, 70 in the pot already, with K9, even with 2 limpers who I'm reading as loose players, I'm not getting 7:1?

dont fold pf, K9 usually has good pair value and 2 pair value. i think you played it fine, i wouldve bet 60 on flop but other than that looks good.

edit- i think if villian bet more on river i fold
