Very typical situation - 600NL Party, 150BB stacks

Villain is very loose, 41/12 and hes coldcalling raises with almost any playable 2 (like 108s, KQo etc). I dont have more reads other than that + I know that this is Party Poker 600NL , so he is not champion of the world.
I check the turn cause I believe I hsould be checking many strong hands on the turn. Now what ? My default is raise but the board is somewhat scary and bet somewhat big... help /images/graemlins/smile.gif

given stack sizes chekc pushing is way too awkward, and c/r a smaller amount kinda sucks too.

What range do you put him on?

If you call there what is your plan for the river?

If you raise and he just smooth calls what is your plan for the river?

Here's how I would answer those:

1 - called preflop with suited connector or pocket pair. Maybe he gets a flush draw on the flop. Maybe a flush+straight draw with something like 8 /images/graemlins/spade.gif 7 /images/graemlins/spade.gif . Your turn check is weak so he's trying to take it away right there. He may have nothing on the flop with the intention of repping a set an taking it away on the turn. I don't see a set over potting the turn.

I think you're ahead often enough to call. If you're raising how much? If your raise is going to be more than his potential river bet (if you were to just call) then I like a call with the intention of check calling a blank river and letting him bluff off more chips. You can put in a blocking bet if you want or if the river is a scare card. If your turn CR is smallish you don't get much more information about his hand if he justs calls.

So, I like a smooth call with the intention of calling on a blank river.

I also agree with the above that you should lead the turn.

A raise is no good here, he will fold anything you beat and call with anything you don't beat. With the exception of Ax spades.

Kind of hard to have the A/images/graemlins/spade.gif when it's already on the board /images/graemlins/smile.gif.

To OP: Just lead the turn. Why risk a free card and why play guessing games?

this is why pot control and control of hand sometimes work against each other.

Many are checking this turn for pot control reasons. The problem is, then the stronger players smell blood. Bet 2/3 to 3/4 on turn and fold to big raise.

In general, I check less than most in front with these types of hands on turn. I'm just not good enough to play them when players makes a bet like in this hand. If i call, i'm lost on river, if i fold, im pissed at myself for being weak.

if ur gonna raise raise more preflop, i like to 20-25ish.

flop is fine.

on the turn, lead for about 100. that way u get smaller aces and flush draws to call along, and you have a pretty safe fold to a raise.
