I think my table image was as a tight/agressive one (but then again everyone seems to envision that about themselves), so I thought Vilan might have been putting a move on me.

Cold calling behind two others I never put him on the hand that he had (figured for AK, AQ, JJ, TT, or PP).

How did I mess up? Please be nice as this is my first post, give me till post number 10 to tell me what an idiot I am.

thanks,

tim

you did fine... you're ahead more often than not... I'm happy to get all my chips in here on the flop

You identify this as a no-limit tournament, but you don't tell what the buy-in is. If the BB has a substantial buy-in, I think your assumption about what he would call with is valid. If it's a freeroll or a small buy-in, there's just no telling what he might have. After he raises the flop, you need to decide whether this is worth your tournament. Maybe the answer is yes. I can see him with 99-JJ. But I can also see him with 55, 66, or 77. And 88 is not good either.

Sorry, PS $50.00 No Limit. a little over 300 entries and this was the last hand before break #2.

Vilan ended up with 89o (flopped the nut straight).
