View Full Version : are all women just golddiggers?
whiskeytown

It seems to me since I turned 33 that the women I meet are less interested in who I am and more what I can do for them.
By this time their biological clocks are BOOM BOOM BOOM which is fine - I can totally dig that and it doesn't scare me as bad as it could - but lately they've been these "non-aspiring" people who make $12/hr as a hostess - One had two roommates, one moved back in with her parents....
My friend Mark says they're looking to pull themselves up by pulling someone down - and one I'm trying to avoid right now as been calling me - she likes going with guys to the full nudity strip clubs from time to time - she's talks incessantly and says nothing, but I think she's coming on to me because to her, I represent a way out of her current situation - living with her parents and working jobs that don't pay well.
Is it just me, or should I pretend I don't make $XXXXX dollars per year and should just cut it in half - If I'm looking for a quick SHIIP I'm sure the 55 inch TV will help but if I'm actually looking for a nice girl like dcifer's babe, then I feel like I'm starting off on the wrong foot with these women of late.
I sorta liked the women I met when I was was poor better then when I was middle class and prosperous.

I don't think women who are attracted to success are golddiggers. Feminists may scoff at this but it is my opinion that many women still long for an old fashion relationship where the man provides security and the woman provides support. These women aren't gold diggers. They want nothing more than to find a man that they can love and cherish. They are only being practical when stability is an attraction to them. A long and loving relationship needs stability as foundation to grow on. You may sense the light bulb going off in their head that says "this guy's got his shitt together, there is potential here". You are then making the mistake that they only have dollar signs in their eyes when, more likly, it's the prospect of a long term loving relationship that is grabbing thier imagination.

Feminist women scuff at your thoughts, but this is also one of the main reasons the new generation of sexually liberated women ditch the feminists. Men who wants to make their woman happy takes the protective/ dominant role.

a book, amazon, etc have plenty.
everything you have ever posted about girls or situations with girls just sucks...Your attitude stinks, your thoughts are all out of line, and every situation I see you getting yourself involved in I just roll my eyes when imagining such a thing.
Now that I got the mean part out of the way, I dont know what there is you can do to change that. The general feel of your posts are demoralizing and you knowingly get yourself into these situations.
MOVE ON! Get rid of this girl who is a hostess. Why are you stressing over it unless it is something you dont like? Clearly you have a problem with the situation or else you #1 wouldnt of posted it #2 included the details that you did.
Have you ever been in a relationship or setting where you were just totally enjoying the moment without any concerns in the back of your mind? If you have, compare these situations to that and realize that they stink: and if you havent, dont accept any future situation unless you can find nothing wrong with it.
I apologize, I dont intend to be mean, but your general tone and demeanor on the topic of women is just mind-blowingly bad. I think you should work on your self-confidence a little where you aren't lowering your standards for someone you are clearly better than.
You seem like a real nice guy and always have honest intentions but you just flat-out get nowhere. I think its time to change the gameplan.

But I'm lookin for the one

Me psychic told me she'll have an ass like Serena

My best friend say she use to [censored] wit Usher
I don't care what none of ya'll say I still lover her
(chorus)

His baby mama's car and crib is bigger than his!
You will see him on TV any given Sunday
Win the Superbowl then drove off in his Hyundai
She was supposed to by shorty Tyco wit ya money
She went to the doctor bought lipo wit ya money
She walkin round lookin like Michahel wit ya money
Should of got that inusured, Geico for ya money
If you ain't no punk holla we want prenupt!
We want prenupt yeah!
It's somthin that ya need to have
Cause when she leave yo ass she gonna leave wit half
18 years...

And on the 18th birthday he found out it wasn't his
(chourus)
Naw I ain't sayin you a gold diggah
You got needs
You don't want a dude to smoke but he can't buy weed
You go out to eat and he can't pay ya'll can't leave
There's dishes in the back he gotta roll up his sleeves
But while ya'll washin watchin him
He gonna make to a Benz outta that Datsun
He got that ambition baby look in his eyes

So stick by his side

And they gonna keep callin and tryin
But you stay right girl
But when you get on
He'll leave yo ass for a white girl
(chourus)
"many women still long for an old fashion relationship where the man provides security and the woman provides support."
It's what nature intended. Women are programmed to seek successful males. They want to give their offspring the best genes and start in life possible.

It all depends on what you want. It doesn't sound like you want to be friends with her.
If you want to have sex with her the best thing to do is to make her think there is a light at the end of the tunnel. At some point she'll get her hands on your ATM card. Spend as little as possible.
If you don't want to have sex with her, completely ignore her.

no biggie - it's 5 figures but I'm about a year and one raise/promotion away from 6 figures -
it's a high 5 figures, but I didn't feel like it was anyone goddamn's business - so I actually X'd it out. For a guy who has faked his way thru as much job experience as I have, it's pretty good, and I'll never make the six figures I did before the decline of the tech bubble - not for years and then inflation will eat up a bit more of it.
Decreasing wages were one of the symptoms of the tech bubble bursting - so were a lot of IT majors going to work at Mcdonalds - /images/graemlins/grin.gif - but it's improving again.

I assume this means you are dating to girls your own age. This is the problem. I seriously dont understand why anyone under 40 would ever deal with girls over 25-26. I am in my late 20s but alot of my friends in the city are older, and it doesnt seem like girls in their mid 20s mind their age. The 30 year old gold diggers will be there for ever if you happen want them in 10 years.
Sure women want stability and comfort, all things being equal. Thats just one way to get the best of it. Why date a poor idiot when you can date a rich one?
My answer to you: either become more interesting in order to make up for your finances (or lack thereof) or just accept that if you aren't offering SOMETHING that is more intriguing than success, you aren't giving women a chance to be anything BUT goldiggers in your case.

This is actually true and runs both ways. I've seen a few women complaining that guys want them only for their bodies, and had to fight really hard to hold back the obvious response: What the heck else is it that you could possibly think you have to offer? And sometimes they don't even have that. It's amazing how much many people think they have to offer who are basically just really dull, mentally lifeless people with no interests, goals, enthusiasms, even a coherent outlook on life, whatever. If lots of us got what we deserved, we wouldn't be elated, we'd be devastated. It's amazing to me that some people can be so clueless about the need to actually have a personality or something interesting about them that goes beyond cool new bluejeans or a great watch or something. Talking to an adult who doesn't read, doesn't care, doesn't think, doesn't think they have to bother having an attractive personality ... ugh. They can be okay enough sometimes, but really, what the hell else are they good for besides banging, if you can take hanging around them even that much? Why the hell would the knights on white horseback, or the supermodels, be riding up to their door?

Yeah, I've found that too. Glad you're liking it. The valerian root I can become habituated to really fast, and sometimes it works better than others. Melatonin I can become a little habituated to also, but it often seems to have a really solid effect on me. I've gotten really restful deep sleeps with it before.

This is interesting, I just read about it at wikipedia. What with crazy work hours and poker, I may be able to benefit from it. Can you give me info on what and how much you're taking?
Blarg
10-29-2005, 06:04 PM
I don't really take it regularly. I just follow the directions on the bottle. But I always read around to see if that that dosage is a good idea or close to the standard, or if more or less is a bad idea, first. You can go to almost any vitamin site, like Vitacost, In-home Health, www.lef.org (http://www.lef.org), etc., and find some dosage requirements. They'll probably all be pretty close if not the same.
By the way, when I speak of becoming habituated, I don't mean addicted. I mean, I get used to it so the effect either isn't as strong or wears off entirely. When that happens, I stay away from it for a week or so, and it starts becoming more effective again -- both valerian root and melatonin. But the effect is rarely as strong as when you haven't had it for a good long while. That's one reason I don't try to max out on how much I can take those things -- so that when I really need a restful sleep badly, I'll have them working for me at full potency.
We're hijacking this thread pretty bad though heheh. Probably should talk about it elsewhere if there's more to be said.

All every woman is after is money is pretty much the same thing as saying all any guy is after is sex in a way. With too many women and men both this is the case.
I'm pretty sure there are good men and women on both sides where this is not the case, but how the hell do they dig through the crappy ones to find the men that are after more than sex or the women that are after more than money? There needs to be a secret handshake or something to identify these people. It will save both them and the men and women that are only looking for that a lot of time.
Also, in general this works out well because the women that are only after money have something to offer the guys that are only after sex and sometimes vice versa. The only people that really get hosed in this deal are guys that are only after sex but have no money.
edit: it's not exactly the same because all guys are after sex as part of the relationship. All women are not necessarily after money as part of it. But too many people on both sides think this way.
