Are YOU in?

10-28-2005, 05:24 PM
well I'M thinking about it. I;ve been up for 20 hours though and I'm not sure I should since it will last a long long time considering no antes...so even longer than usual.

Arnfinn Madsen
10-28-2005, 05:28 PM
I'm in, I am curious to see how it will play out. Even if the blinds increase slowly, I guess after 4-5 hours basically all players will be relatively short stacked. An interesting aspect will be that you may have the same guy left or right of you for 5-6 hours.

pfkaok
10-28-2005, 05:48 PM
any idea how long this will take for LHE? will it be longer than the NLHE ones even though its less peopel?

Arnfinn Madsen
10-28-2005, 06:01 PM
It looks like there will be appx.2 million chips in play. Guess that will probably take it to stakes level 20 or something. 20 levels will take 11+ hours to play out.

AlphaWice
10-28-2005, 06:12 PM
how long did deepstack NL go for?

Arnfinn Madsen
10-28-2005, 06:14 PM
12-13 hours, but they have more players. However, we are up to 3 million chips in this one now (12 hours maybe).

Should one treat a deepstacked LHE tourney like one would treat a cash game?

Arnfinn Madsen
10-28-2005, 06:37 PM
Yes, just don't lock your notes. Many of your opponents will start very loose and gradually tighten up as the stakes increase.

10-28-2005, 07:16 PM
First break sure came quick. 6,802 chips, keep paying off when people hit their draws though.

Arnfinn Madsen
10-28-2005, 07:19 PM
T4,635 at 1st break. 7 calling stations at my table, cards haven't hit good, but if they do I will be paid big (they call river caps on scary boards with top pair, crappy kicker). My table is like playing .10/.20. It is nice since I increase my chances, but joined this since I hoped it would be some good players to battle with so a bit disappointed (I will meet them later in tourney prob. though).

10-28-2005, 07:49 PM
This is by the far the worst tournament ive ever played in. I dont even think the limit 1 dollar tournaments are this bad.

Arnfinn Madsen
10-28-2005, 07:53 PM
I have only seen 8 players so far, but it is the worst limit table I have seen for a while /images/graemlins/smile.gif. People coldcalling after UTG-raiser and other coldcaller with 10 2 etc..

10-28-2005, 07:59 PM
Well, I'm also in this tourney, srcarrel is my name.

I guess I've been fairly ... fortunate (?) in that my
table isn't completely terrible, just a few players.
Anyways, I'm getting close to the 10k mark, how's everyone
else doing?

Oh, and whos playing the shorthanded tourney in an
hour or so?

Arnfinn Madsen
10-28-2005, 08:03 PM
I am down to 2,300, have been extremely unlucky.

PrtyPsux
10-28-2005, 08:10 PM
Im in. same name. I was up in the first 20 spots for the first hour playing a bunch of hands. Now im down to 6k after a bunch of draws missed and a few sets getting sucked out. There are some huge donkeys at my table.

10-28-2005, 08:23 PM
Second break, I'm sitting happily at 10,775.

PrtyPsux
10-28-2005, 08:28 PM
im down to 5k. I raise utg and get called by q7...its ridiculous. hopefully my hands will start holding up.

Arnfinn Madsen
10-28-2005, 08:28 PM
T 3,750 at 2nd break. I am a losing player at .10/.20 I guess /images/graemlins/smirk.gif. As there is 3 players at every showdown I just have to play by my cards. Haven't bluffed a single time and probably won't do it for the next 2-3 hours either so it is quite simple poker.

Arnfinn Madsen
10-28-2005, 08:30 PM
1st hand after break I hit good. Donks with the autocallbutton on pays me off so at 5,950 now.

AlphaWice
10-28-2005, 08:32 PM
I suck because im a donkey, 3.3 after second.

Arnfinn Madsen
10-28-2005, 08:37 PM
On turn there is 4 players in hand, 3 spades on board 789J on board and I have straight. Since player bets and other call I figure one of them may have flush and see no value in raising. Same thing happens on river, they have just crap /images/graemlins/confused.gif. I pick up pot.

T 9,000 now.

10-28-2005, 08:42 PM
I'm out..Everytime I had a decent hand someone would call to river to hit two pair.. But I guess it's always good to get out of these things quickly than to play forever and not cash..

I'm in the limit shorthanded, hopefully my luck will be better.

10-28-2005, 08:44 PM
Get knocked out with all my chips in on a 752 rainbow flop with QQ, turn is of course an A. I lost most of my chips to runner runner flushes? Or called to the river overcards.

Arnfinn Madsen
10-28-2005, 08:45 PM
Yeah, variance becomes huge even if edge is huge when they play like this. GG.

I have 2 pair and the maniac chiplead caps the turn I just call the river, he has a set. I have AJ I hit my J and Im up against Q's. I have JJ for the final hand and I go all in, the flop comes QA and Im out. LHE tourneys are rigged.

10-28-2005, 09:29 PM
Well, 3rd break now, not doing as well as before,
down to T 8,280.

Anyone else still in?

Oh, and I'm doing terribly in the shorthanded tourney.

Arnfinn Madsen
10-28-2005, 09:33 PM
I am in at T13,525. Some of the worst calling stations are out, so play starts to normalize a bit, my table has gone from .10/.20 to .25/.50, I guess. But I have seen only one good player except me so far at my table.

10-28-2005, 10:13 PM
I don't know about you but it seems that the
play has become very tight lately.

Arnfinn Madsen
10-28-2005, 10:20 PM
I was switched to another table, and it is quite tight. Typical in these limit tourneys that it gets tighter and tighter.

okay back to your scheduled program.

Oh, and as an aside, I'm about 10th in chips in the
shorthanded tourney.

Arnfinn Madsen
10-28-2005, 10:30 PM
I'm out, see you are doing well. GL.

10-28-2005, 10:35 PM
4th break, T 40,595. I'm doing pretty well so far.

10-28-2005, 11:42 PM
Well, its the ?? break (I've lost count) and I'm
at about 50k in chips, that'd be about 14th in chips.

The competition has certainly become more difficult
since the first rounds but still beatable.

FYI, losing to a 3-outer on the river is not very
nice at this point in the tourney /images/graemlins/wink.gif

10-29-2005, 12:48 AM
When will the madness end.

??+1 break, still at a little under 50k.

10-29-2005, 01:55 AM
I might as well stop posting as I'm still
at 50k. I had a brief affair with 100k but
it didn't work out for too long.

Oh, and as much as 3-outers on the river are
no fun, 2-outers ar worse.

UMCorona
10-29-2005, 01:56 AM
Still in this thing...

At the break after level 14 now. I'm at 128k, 9th out of 34. Got off to an excruciatingly slow start for the first few hours, then it's been a bit of a rollercoaster ride from there on.

Hopefully I can hold it together and at least make the final table and make this worth all the time.

10-29-2005, 03:51 AM
Well, looks like FT time, and we both made it.

UMCorona
10-29-2005, 04:05 AM
And I'm out in 9th. TT with the small stack at the table and decided I was doubling or losing on it. 88 called and hit an 8 and that's it for me.

Good luck Pythuz. I'd stay and watch, but after 10 hours I need to go pass out.

10-29-2005, 04:13 AM
Well, sorry to disappoint but I'm out the door
behind you in 8th, AJ with A of spades vs AQo, flop J
high with all spades and my opponent catches his
Q on the river.

It was fun, but I'm not sure I'll do it again, a
bit long. Anyways, now I'm off to get some sleep.
