No two guitarists have the same gear it seems. I've been playing blues for 20 something years. Here's my current setup:

Two electric guitars, a 68 Les Paul Custom I bought in 82 for $500, and a brand new Fender Ash Telecaster that I just love!

Two amps, a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and a Kendrick gig rig. That Kendrick amp is amazing!!! I usually play guitar-cable-amp but sometimes I use a Boss CS-3 compressor peddle.

Two accoustic guitars, a Gibson J-45 Working Man, love the tone! I also have an old Ovation that I rarely use.

Fun stuff! L8r.. BB

I own a Guild that was passed down from my father (it is >50 yrs old) that just had it's neck re-set and sounds wonderful.

EDIT: anyone use and recommend Elixer strings?

nothing but.

Ibanez acoustic purchased in 1999 for about $200.
Gibson Epiphone electric "sunburst" purchased in...2002? About $300.
And I run it through a Crate amp, which was also about $300.

Good enough for me, since I'm just the recreational player who plays to relieve stress. And to act like Jimmy Page.

OK, it is a bass guitar but I still like it. Got it about 2 months ago:

Fender Americian Deluxe 5 string. http://www.music123.com/Fender-American-Deluxe-Precision-Bass-V--Maple-FB--i127473.music

Gallien Krueger 400RB IV/210 Amp http://www.music123.com/Gallien-Krueger-400RB-IV-210-i129782.music

Not a huge setup but it does more than what I need.

Ovation Elite (http://www.ovationguitars.com/index.cfm?fa=detail&mid=61)

Plain ole small Fender Amp, Wah Pedal that is so old I am relatively it is older than I am. Digitech Effects Rack, Tascam Analog 4 track.

Yeah I haven't bought new equipment in over 7 years.

'83 American Strat through a Digitech RP-7 and a Peavey Special 130. I just play casually, no band or anything, so its plenty fine for me.

I've also got an Alvarez acoustic.

On the guitar side:
A buncha guitars, but my main ones are my '59 reissue Les Paul, and a Tacoma acoustic. Current amps on hand are an old Fender Twin Reverb and a Marshall DSL401 combo. Only pedals I ever really use are a Big Muff and a Tube Screamer.

On the bass side:
Main bass is a '72(i think) reissue Fender Jazz Bass. This goes through an Ampeg SVT3-pro head into an Ampeg 6x10 cab.

Missing gear that poker winnings needs to finance ASAP:
- Ampeg SVT-Classic bass amp head.
- Vox AC30 guitar amp.
- Nice American Fender Telecaster.

2001 fender american standard ($900), 2x12, 2x60w cybertwin fender amp ($1300). I'm just a casual player so it suits my purposes just fine. you can get virtually (pun intended) any sound out of the cybertwin though.

Forgot to include that I picked up the Strat and the amp for $500 used back around 1997 or so. It was a steal. Basically same color/neck as this:
