I downloaded the "Now Here Is Nowhere" album by the secret machines, and received "C'mon C'mon" as a bonus track, along with a few others. The song kicks ass and reminds me of when I used to listen to this style of music more. Anyone have some good recommendations for similar music? Simple upbeat energetic guitars, good drums, catchy vocals...I did a search and saw them mentioned in the "songs that put hair on your nuts" thread, so I'll definitely check out some of those...others?

btw, say it ain't so is a great song...

the rest of that vb album is more garagey less pop, but if yr into that: sweet.

I'm an old dude, so I can recommend some good older stuff that sounds like von bondies: in particular:
Lotta pacific northwest 90s stuff:
Fastbacks: New Mansions in Sound (or anything else)
Flop: Whenever You're Ready
Dancing French Liberals of 48: Powerline

Some older junx:
Husker Du: Candy Apple Grey
Undertones: s/t
Didjits: any

Highly Underrated:
Smoking Popes: Born to Quit

(secret machines kick ath by the way)

cool, thanks Georgia.

And yes, secret machines were [censored] great live. Saw them at the 930 club here in DC, and the place was packed, and loud...good times...
